Jared Spahn, President & CEO
Jared Spahn is one of the founding members of First Real Estate Management and currently serves as its Managing Member. A graduate of Washington and Lee University with a degree in Public Policy, Mr. Spahn has used his knowledge to work with community associations since he founded the company in 1998. Having grown up in Maryland’s largest homeowners association(Columbia, Maryland), he has used his life experiences to work with developers and homeowners to help build communities. First Real Estate Management, under Mr. Spahn’s leadership, has served dozens of communities and thousands of homeowners across the State of Maryland. His wealth of knowledge of the development process and construction procedures has twice won him awards as Developer of the Year by the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development. Mr. Spahn has also served under both the Erlich and O’Malley Administrations as a member of the Maryland Department of General Services Professional Services Selection Board. In 2009 he was elected Chairman of that committee.
Justin Matto, Director of Operations
Justin joined the First Real Estate Management team in 2017 with more than 15 years of experience in the property management software industry. Justin began his career with PMAS, where he worked with HOAs, residential property with HUD and Section 42 requirements as customer support for their property management accounting software. He then spent nearly a decade with CoreLogic Jenark, currently used by First Real Estate Management. He started in implementation support and later moved up to Application Support Manager. Justin comes from Professional Accounting Solutions, where he implemented Sun Systems for the hospitality industry, traveling around the world to provide training and support. Justin earned his B.S. in business from Elmira College.
Liz Robson, Senior Property Accountant and Accounting Team Lead
Liz Robson joined First Real Estate Management in May of 2014. Liz is responsible for managing the Financial Reporting for all associations. Liz has 23+ years’ of experience in the property management, accounting and software industry. She started her career as an accountant for a small mixed-use property management company. She then moved into the position of Implementation and Training Specialist for Skyline Property Management Accounting Software for clients across the country. More recently, she spent 5 years as a Project Manager at Core Logic/ Jenark Property Management Accounting Software (our current software) specifically tailored for Condominium and Homeowner’s Associations. She managed over 30 Property Management Companies and supported and trained companies like ours nationwide. As our former account representative at Jenark, she has extensive knowledge of setting up custom financial reports, banking integration, and all aspects of the software related to accounting for our associations.
Ed Mueller, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, Community Manager
Ed Mueller is a Certified Manager of Community Assocations® a designation from CAI. He currently manages a large portfolio of residential and commercial buildings, serving as the primary contact for residents, tenants, contractors, and developers. He began his career in Real Estate for a large insurance company, where he served as a Wholesale Finance Account Executive educating mortgage brokers on underwriting guidelines and product offerings. From there, Ed worked for a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) where he was responsible for the management of leasing, property maintenance, insurance, community image, and budgeting. He excels in customer relations and has resolved thousands of customer issues, acts as liaison between residents and contractors for renovations, and strives to obtain the lowest cost of service for property maintenance of buildings and communities. He is passionate about Real Estate and serves as President of his own Homeowners Association.
Jaime Emche, Community Manager
Jamie Emche graduated from Villa Julie College with a bachelor’s of science degree in Visual Communications. After college, she began working for over 15 years in the accounting field as an administrative assistant. When joining the First Real Estate Management team in 2016 as an administrative assistant, she began learning the intricacies of property management. Now Jamie manages a large portfolio of Homeowner’s Association and Condominium Associations. Outside of property management, Jamie enjoys spending time with her family.
John E. Sheehy, CMCA®, AMS®, PCAM®, Community Manager
John comes to First Real Estate Management with thirty (30) years of experience in Community Association Management. He has attained his PCAM®, Professional Community Association Manager designation, through the Community Association Institute. He attended Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda and studied Business Administration at University of Maryland University College. He has lived in the Washington Metro area most of his life. Presently he lives in Annapolis, Maryland with his family. He currently manages a portfolio of several homeowner associations for FREM.
Karen Holmes, Community Manager
Karen, originally from Maryland, has recently moved back into the area from Pawley Island, South Carolina where she has spent the past 12 years working as a Property Manager at Pawleys Island Realty, LLC. With a strong focus on problem-solving and attention to detail, adept at effectively managing and resolving complex issues within homeowner’s associations. Her extensive experience has honed her ability to identify and address potential challenges before they escalate, ensuring smooth operations and optimal owner satisfaction.
Pamela VanGenderen, Administrative Assistant
Pamela has 10 years’ experience working as a Realtor/Real Estate Agent and 5+ years working as an administrator assistance in the Property Management realm. She joined First Real Estate Management, LLC taking a position as an administrative assistant. She has served dozens of homeowners across the State of Maryland. Her wealth of knowledge in the sales of homes and working as an administrator assistance has extended to win-win solutions ending in the best result for all parties. When Pamela isn’t working she enjoys time with family and friends.
